the haute route

On this trip, you’ll trek from Chamonix to Zermatt, from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn. It’s an absolutely spectacular walk full of scenic wonders from start to finish. In two weeks of travel (for the full Haute Route), you’ll witness to the greatest scenery in all the Alps and visit some of the most beautiful valleys full of charming villages, alpine hamlets and interesting history.

You’ll hike through flower-filled meadows, up and over high mountain passes and along dramatic ridges. You’ll cross crystal-clear rivers, skirt blue glacial tarns and walk beside massive glaciers suspended from high rocky terrain.  You’ll see marmots and ibex and meet friendly hikers along the way.

The Haute Route is more challenging than the Tour du Mont Blanc since it covers more distance, crosses more passes and has more elevation gain and loss.

Our adventure hiking the Haute Route (our honeymoon!) was absolutely epic!! It’s hard to describe what a spectacular, life enhancing experience it was. Having our itinerary set, accommodations booked, and all the safety details and extra info we might need was a total game changer and basically created the most stress free experience we could have hoped for. Not to mention all of the lovely details in between :) I can’t sing enough praise for the Pathways team!
